FLR FP FLR FM

Post by Raye » Fri Dec 12, 2025 9:16 pm

I first came to the UK on a student visa in the early 2000s. Unfortunately, after a refusal, my visa expired and I became an overstayer.
In 2016, I met my partner, who already had a child, and I have been involved in her life as a parent. My partner and I also have a biological daughter together.
I was later granted Leave to Remain on the 10-year route (FLR(FP)). After completing 5 years on that route, I switched to the spouse visa (also FLR(FP)).
My partner has now told me that she no longer wants the marriage to continue and has asked me to move out. My question is: if I switch back to FLR(FP), do I have to start the 10-year route again, or can I continue from the 5 years I already completed?
My partner has had mental-health issues in the past, which involved police and social services. I would like advice on what my options are and what steps I should take next.

10 years doesn't reset. LR route can be a combination of visas. You just have to have lived here legally for 10 years.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
