From Skilled Worker to Global Talent to ILR to Citizenship - dependent visa extension for my wife

Post by Obi234 » Tue Dec 30, 2025 10:43 am

Hi all,

I have read through many posts, but could not find a situation that matches mine exactly. There is a good chance that this has already been asked and answered in the past, so my apologies in advance that I could not find any.

My situation:
Skilled Worker Visa - Feb 2021
Global Talent Visa - 2023
ILR - 2024
British Citizenship - 2025

My wife got the dependent visa on my skilled worker visa in June 2021. We are now applying to renew her dependent visa. I understand we have to apply for another 3 years and pay the IHS fees for 3 years. I want to be careful not to mistakenly switch my wife's visa category, thereby restarting her clock. Please kindly help with advice on how to answer the following questions in the application form:

Questions:
1. My Nationality: Should I choose British Citizen, or my country of birth, since that was my country of citizenship when my wife got her dependent visa?

2. Passport Number: Following question 1 above, do I fill in the number of the British passport or the passport of my country of birth?

3. Current immigration status: There is a description to choose the service that I most recently applied for. (except ILR or Citizenship) If I choose the Global Talent visa, as it is my recent visa category, it differs from the skilled worker visa that my wife was dependent on. If I choose the skilled worker visa that my wife was dependent on, this would not be the most recent visa category I applied for. Please advise.

4. UAN: Following question 3 above, do I use the Global Talent or Skilled Worker UAN?

Thanks very much for your continued help and support to many via this forum.
