ILR Timing – Skilled Worker Visa Queries

Post by amar2k05 » Mon Dec 15, 2025 8:58 pm

Background:
I am on a Skilled Worker visa with a vignette start date of 26 February 2021 and entered the UK on 10 March 2021. My current visa expires on 10 April 2026. I understand that I can submit my ILR application no earlier than 29 January 2026 (28 days before the vignette start date).

Query:
Is it permissible to submit the ILR application slightly earlier than 29 January 2026 (e.g., 3 weeks before) and schedule the biometric appointment on or after 29 January 2026? A solicitor advised a friend that this might be possible, but I am unsure if this is correct.

Questions:
Can ILR applications be submitted before the 28-day window if the biometric appointment is scheduled later?

Yes, that's possible.

The date of ILR application or biometrics appointment is less relevant, it's the date of ILR decision the most beneficial.

This has been discussed on this forum so many times.

ILR Application – Skilled Worker - Clarification on Bank Statement

Post by amar2k05 » Mon Dec 22, 2025 10:08 pm

Hi all,
I came across the following guidance on payslips & Bank statements in a previous post:

"These documents should be dated no earlier than 31 days before the date of application"

viewtopic.php?t=332923#p2090242

In my situation, I plan to submit my ILR application on 29 January 2025. However, by that date, my most recent bank statement will only reflect my December salary, which was credited on 22 December 2024 (we receive December pay early due to Christmas). The next salary credit will be on 30 January 2025, which falls after my intended application date.
If I submit the December bank statement, it will be more than 31 days old by 29 January 2025.
Could anyone advise what options I have in this scenario if I must submit the application by 29 January 2025?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

ILR - Address proof requirements

Post by amar2k05 » Thu Jan 01, 2026 10:54 pm

Hi,
Greetings of the day.
I am preparing to submit ILR for my self and my dependents and have couple of queries.

1. How many address proofs I need to submit to support my application and my wife's application?
2. How many years I should cover for each address proof?
3. Address proof on my name is sufficient for child dependents?

Thanks,
Amarnath.

ILR Application

Post by amar2k05 » Sun Jan 04, 2026 9:12 pm

Hi,

I am on Skilled worker Visa and currently in the process of preparing my ILR application.
I have couple of questions:

1. My Vignette start date is 26/Feb/2021 and I am counting backwards from this date and applying on 29/Jan/2026. However, I have entered UK on 10/Mar/2021. I came across below question in the ILR application, can you please guide on which date I should fill?

Question:
Date you first entered the UK
When did you first enter the UK?
This is the date you entered the UK when the period of stay you are basing this application on started.

2. I wanted to apply ILR for my family as well and wanted to apply using separate applications and the reason is that I can pay separately using different credit cards as I don't have funds required for all in one account or credit card, but looks like there is no option to apply separately unless I first obtain ILR and then apply for them separately. Is this right?

Thanks.

1. The date you enter on the form has NO relevance to qualifying period calculation for ILR at all

2. You all can apply separately. Their application will be held until yours is decided.
