ILR Settlement eligibility dates for myself and my dependents

Post by sathya2008 » Sun Jan 04, 2026 10:38 pm

Hi,
Wanted to know the earliest ILR eligibility date for me & my dependents based on my situation.

Was in the UK from April 2016, entered on ICT Tier 2 Long term (main applicant) with dependents.
Switched from ICT Tier 2 Long term to Skilled Worker during COVID 2021.
Application made : In country (UK) for my and 3 dependents
Submitted Date : 24th March 2021
Decision received: 28th April 2021
BRP Validity start date :28th April 2021

Skilled worker visa subsequently renewed in 2024 with validity until 1st May 2026.

Both myself and Wife passed the Life in the UK Tests and have English C1 language level.
Both initial & renewal Skilled Worker applications have been submitted to UKVI with me as Main applicant and dependents included & as a result, all of us having the same validity.

My queries are below:

1.What is the earliest date for 5 year ILR settlement via SET(O) in 2026?. Is it 25/02 or 31/03?.

2.Will it be the same earliest date for ILR application for me and my dependents if we can go for the below concession applied. (Https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... settlement) as they applied with me and were waiting for the decision due to COVID distruption.

Due to major disruption to UKVI services during the COVID-19 pandemic, Tier 2 (General) and Skilled Worker applicants in the UK were permitted to start work for their sponsors while waiting for decisions on their applications. This time while they were waiting, but able to work, also counts towards the continuous 5-year period. The applicant must have been in the UK with permission (including as a visitor or with Exceptional Assurance), and the application must have been:

for permission to stay
made between 24 January 2020 and 30 June 2021 (inclusive)
supported by a CoS on the date of application
granted

Note I meet ALL the criteria set below for this concession.

1. The earliest date of eligibility is within 28 days of completing your 5 years, counting from first visa application (as per covid concession)

READ--> All you need to know about applying early, the application date, 28-day concession and more

2. The concession only applies to main applicants but many reported that they all have been granted ILR when they applied together.
