Dear All,
I am a freelance contractor and I receive my payments in form of cheques which are paid into my bank account directly by my Clients abroad. I just discovered that my December cheque deposit was on the 30th of December but the value date as it appeared in my statement is 02/01/09. The earning period I am claiming points for is from 01/01/08 to 31/12/08. Although my bank statement reflected this payment on 30/12/08, but the value date appeared as 02/01/09 which is outside the earning period for which I am claiming poits for. My concern is:
Will this payment be regarded by the caseworker as uncleared fund and as such not part of my earning for the period?
Secondly, one of my monthly payments cheques was returned by the bank unpaid as a result of change in the bank's system, hence the payment was now made in the first week of the next month (ie I now received 2 payments in one month. Will this affect my earning since the invoice was still consistent with the rest and the earning period was still within the 12 months period I am going to claim. The freelance job was for 6 months of the earning period I am going to claim while salary from salaried employment is for 12 months.
Please I need replies as I will be applying for FLR Tier 1 HSMP Extension in less than 2 weeks from now. Please help me out for I am confused.
