AN application and ID document issue

Hi All, I am EU SS ILR, done tests, have all the evidences and ready for my application.My passport (same that I've used for Life in UK test)will be taken for renewal 29.01. This can open 2 scenarios, I could be given a new Passport straightaway or they could post it to me ( who knows when) and keep my old one. The guidance seems to suggest I have to use the same document used when done the test, which cannot be as it will either be changed or not be valid anymore till new one gets to me. Other chance would be using my DL but the Guidance doesn't seem to suggest this as it wasn't the document used for the test and anyway I don't know if this could be accepted for the Biometrics. Being a very costly process, I don't want to risk, wrote email to Natur. CS and TLS but not sure if they will answer any soon. Tnx

Make colour copies of your present passport before you send it in for renewal. Where does it say in the guidance that it has to be the same? people lose their passports, or they expire - as long as you have a valid passport it will be ok. When are you planning to apply?

Can the renewal wait for the naturalisation process to complete? Do you know if you will need to leave and reenter the UK before then?
