ILR eligibility for Skilled Worker Dependent

Post by ubikamandal525 » Sat Mar 07, 2026 11:01 am

I’m hoping someone can clarify my eligibility for ILR based on my visa timeline.

First entry to the UK: 20 Oct 2020 on ICT Dependant visa (husband was the main ICT applicant).

Husband switched to Skilled Worker visa: April 2021.

I switched to Skilled Worker Dependant visa: 20 Nov 2021.

My husband has already received ILR a week ago

My current Skilled Worker Dependant visa expires on 29 June 2026.

In total, I have been living in the UK for over 5 years with the combination of:
~1 year as ICT Dependant
~4.5 years as Skilled Worker Dependant

My question:
Do I need to extend my Skilled Worker Dependant visa to complete 5 years specifically on that visa, or can I apply directly for ILR now since my total time in the UK as a dependant exceeds 5 years?

Would appreciate guidance from anyone who has had a similar situation or understands the rules well.

Thank you!

Apply for ILR using form SET(O) --> viewtopic.php?t=354739#p2202890

Thanks for your reply, Is there any cover letter I need to submit explaining my situation?

Also the link you shared viewtopic.php?t=354739#p2202890 is all about 10 year route.. is it going to be the same for my case? because I am on 5 years route.

Have you seen any cases where someone applied for ILR on 5 years route with the combination of ICT Dependent + Skilled Worker Dependent visa?

Please suggest.

Thanks,
Ubika

It is about the dependants applying for ILR as skilled worker dependants.
The fact that the main applicant could have settled either under the 5 year route or the 10 year long residence is irrelevant
