SET( LR) Questions

Post by Neha2810 » Mon Feb 02, 2026 7:32 pm

I have few questions regarding Set (LR) :
1. I was on a one-year ICT short-term visa, which expired in August 2016. I returned to my home country and came back in November 2016. Do I need to mention anything specific in my ILR application about the approximately 90-day gap?
2. I was initially employed by Company ABC Ltd, which sponsored my skilled worker visa. Last year, I switched to another company within the same group, ABC Services ltd, and received a new skilled worker visa. Even though both companies are part of the same group, the new visa was issued.
• For the ILR Set (LR) application, which start date should I use? I’ve been with the ABC group for 3 years, and they provided a Bonafide letter stating the start date of my employment with them. Getting the required letter from them is quite a hassle.
• Can I mention Company name like ABC Services Ltd & ABC Ltd with start date going back to 3 years. I don’t want queries from them so seeking your advice.
3. What kind of documents required in - Documents supporting my other reasons to stay in the UK

Firstly, go and read this --> Changes to the Long Residence settlement route from 11 April 2024

1. No

2. The long residence has no employment requirement and your employment history is irrelevant. Enter whatever

3. If you answer yes to 'Do you have any other reasons to stay in the UK', the system will ask you to provide evidence for this and you will get confused. Ignore this as you do not need to have 'other' reasons

Thank you, Zimba. I received my ILR and I’m very grateful for your support.

I have another question. I informed my employer that I have been granted ILR, and they updated their system and sent me a letter stating that my Skilled Worker visa will be cancelled. I have not yet received a letter from the Home Office confirming this.

However, I have now realised that my daughter, who was born here, may be affected. We applied for her MN1 registration earlier this month. If my visa is cancelled, I believe her visa status might also be cancelled.

As I understand that MN1 applications can take up to six months, will I need to apply for a separate visa for her while we wait for the MN1 decision?

If yes , what visa do i need to apply .

Thanks in anticipitation.

Congratulations :D

The child's visa will not be affected. The child's visa status is based on your lawful residence/status and will not be cancelled, as you have ILR. Your employer cannot cancel anything because when your ILR was granted your previous visa became invalid anyway. There will be no confirmation of this at all as this happened as part of the ILR process automatically.

You do not need to do anything
