Hi everyone,
I would appreciate some guidance regarding my family member immigration situation.
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to get some advice regarding my husband’s immigration situation.
My husband is currently in the UK on a Skilled Worker visa and was working in IT company. Unfortunately, he has recently been made redundant. I am in the UK as his dependent.
**Some details about his situation:**
* Current visa: Skilled Worker visa (my husband) and dependent visa (myself)
* Visa approval date: 6 April
* Visa expiry date: 22 April 2026
* Time lived in the UK: 4 years and 11 months
* Occupation: IT professional
Since he is very close to completing 5 years in the UK, we are concerned about how this redundancy may affect his eligibility for ILR.
We would really appreciate guidance on a few questions:
1. His employer is not willing to provide a letter confirming that his role is required for the foreseeable future. Without this letter, is it still possible for him to apply for ILR?
2. Given that he has lived in the UK for 4 years and 11 months, is there any realistic chance of ILR approval in this situation?
3. Apart from finding a new sponsored job, are there any other options available to him?
We would be very grateful for any advice or experiences from people who have gone through something similar.
Thank you very much for your help.
