Problematic SET(M) document checklist

Post by frabezoixani-5859 » Tue Mar 17, 2026 7:48 pm

Hi everyone,

I am currently applying for ILR via the SET(M) route. I'm a bit concerned about missing necessary documents, as I know the document checklist generated from the application form isn't always comprehensive.

Like some other members here (eg this thread) my checklist did not explicitly ask for cohabitation evidence. However, I know this is a mandatory requirement and will include it regardless.

On documents to be signed by my British spouse, my checklist only includes family_declaration.pdf. I've noticed other applicants mentioning family_consent.pdf (the one with Parts 1 to 3) - I remember completing this for my FLR(M), but it hasn't appeared for this SET(M) application.

Can I ask if it is normal for family_consent.pdf to be omitted for SET(M), or should I proactively complete and upload it anyway?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thank you Zimba. Sorry I now realise this has been asked several times before (here / here /here).
