Passport renewal after submitting citizenship application

Dear all,

My children's current non-UK passports are going to expire in July this year. We submitted their UK citizenship application a couple of days ago and will submit their biometrics later this month. Is it ok if we apply for the renewal of their non-UK passports in the meantime? Will it affect their citizenship application? We want to renew their non-UK passports in case they need to travel in the next few months due to an emergency, while their UK passports have not arrived, and their non-UK passports have expired.
