Dear all,
I am planning to apply for registration of my children born outside the UK in the next few days. Just wanted to check if it is ok to apply for them while my own naturalisation application is awaiting decision. Our timelines are below:
UK Skilled Worker (Tier 2) visa stamped on passport: 27/10/2020
First entered the UK: 13/01/2021
Main and Dependents extended for 2 years under GTV on: 16/11/2023
Main applicant got ILR on: 18/03/2024
Main applicant submitted naturalisation application: 27/01/2026
Dependent spouse and children got ILR on: 24/03/2026 (Children born outside UK, now 5+ years in UK, have ILR, and one parent has applied for naturalisation)
Also, can I use the same referee for them as mine (i.e. University academics who are my colleagues and family friends?) I understand I need to show proof that I have made an attempt to get reference from their school, however, since it's easter holidays, I don't want to delay their application. Also, I am not too confident their teachers will be happy to share their personal details. In this case, will it be acceptable if I mention these reasons in a cover letter explaining why we haven't used their school teachers as referees?
Thanks
