British Passport for baby born abroad

Hi,
I gained British Citizenship by ILR (Long Residence, my parents are non-British) in 2019, moved to UAE for work purposes in 2023 and left UK. I got married in UAE and my wife is an Indian national who never visited UK. We had our first child in UAE few weeks back.
I am wondering if the baby (born outside UK) is already British and we can apply for the first passport from outside UK?

If the child is born after the date of your naturalisation, then yes, the child is a British citizen by descent and you can apply directly for a British passport for them.

You will need a British or Irish citizen unrelated to you or your spouse as a referee.

Be aware that any children (your grandchildren) born to that child outside the UK will not automatically be British citizens.

I have been asked to send following documents after the identity was confirmed. I am unsure how are grandparents documents applicable here if they were not British. Please advise.

Parents’ documents
For 1 of your parents, send 1 of the following:
-full birth or adoption certificate (showing both the child’s and parents’ details). I have the birth certificate.
-naturalisation or registration certificate, I believe this would be my naturalization certificate.

I am unsure about following documents:

Grandparents’ documents
Send all of the following for both maternal grandparents:
full birth or adoption certificate (showing both the child’s and parents’ details)
grandfather’s marriage certificate to your grandmother (if this applies)
And all of the following for both paternal grandparents:
full birth or adoption certificate (showing both the child’s and parents’ details)
grandfather’s marriage certificate to your grandmother (if this applies)

It does say if this applies. The form wants to cater to all possible scenario. Send only the documents that are relevant to you, as advised.

Grandparents documents are not required as child citizenship as based on yours through naturalisation.
You just need to send your naturalisation certificate not child’s birth certificate.
It asks for 1 doc from the list!
