Child's references for registration

Hi,

I have an Indian passport and recently got my ILR under Set (O) route as dependants of a skilled worker. More details is in my earlier post here viewtopic.php?t=358556.
My husband who also had an Indian passport, has eventually got his ILR in May 2024 and UK passport in July 2025 as he had qualified under 10 years long residence route. My question is can I apply for my naturalization straight away as my husband is already a British citizen and I and my daughter have got my ILR now. Or do I need to wait for 1 year before I apply for my naturalization.

Yes, you can apply for naturalisation straight away under section 6(2): married to a British citizen. No need to wait.

Will start the application now. Also are there any categories while applying for naturalization which I need to choose. For example, while applying ILR we have Set (O), Set (M) etc. Do we have similar categories for applying for naturalization. Or its just one category only.

Naturalisation is not an immigration application and it has its specific rules, how you obtained ILR is irrelevant.

I have got an initial glance at the document. Also do you know if there are any similar directives for kids aged 9, who has also got ILR but was born outside UK as I want to apply for my daughter as well. Can I do it together, or shall I have to wait before my naturalization completes. And then directly apply for passport.

Yes, both you and child can apply (if child has completed 5 years of residence).

Hi,

I have a query regarding reference for my 9 year old daughter who needs reference for her registration. She has ILR and her father is a British citizen. I have asked her school if anybody can provide reference but haven't got any response yet. People are ready to give contact details but not passport number. Do we know for children (under 18 years) apart from school who else can provide reference for registration application, thanks.

Use a family friend on the professionals list. this is a well known issue to ukvi.
