Employment letter necessary for naturalisation?

Post by Unaisha8 » Tue Jun 23, 2026 3:45 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm applying for naturalisation under the 3 year spouse rule. I already have ILR granted.

For documents, I will be sending:
Passport with all pages
P60s and payslips
Council tax bills
My spouse passport
English test certificate
Registry marriage certificate
Two references declaration

I have requested for an employment letter last week but my workplace said the waiting time is 15 days. My question is if it's absolutely necessary to send an employment letter or will the P60s and payslips suffice?

Also, do I need to send other proof of residence. Any advice would be much appreciated.

You do NOT need an employment letter or P60s, payslips or coj cil tax.

For residence proof, it is stamped passport only.
