Eligibility fot ILR Application

Hi Everyone,

I would appreciate some advice regarding my skilled worker visa Tier 2 ILR Eligibility.

My timeline is as follows:

• Skilled Worker Visa Application Successful Decision email received: 03/08/2021
• BRP Issued Date : 19/08/2021
• Vignette start date: 30/08/2021
• UK first entry date: 03/09/2021

I have applied for Skilled Worker visa from India and entered UK on 03/09/2021 and have remained on skilled worker visa route since then with no gaps in permissions.

When will my 5-year qualifying period for applying ILR start, is it from the visa application decision approved date or BRP issued date or Vignette start date on passport for UK entry or from First UK entry date as I'm getting confused by going through various people.

Thank you in advance for your help. Please guide me when can I apply for ILR as it says 28 days earlier from qualifying date ? Not sure which one to take into account and calculate 28 days earlier from that to apply for ILR.

You should use the earliest date on an immigration visa document issued to you, which in your case was the BRP issue date.
Date of entry is irrelevant.

Thanks, that means can I apply for ILR on June 21,2026 which is 28 days earlier starting from BRP issued date 19/08/2021. Is it right and safe to apply ILR on this date please.

Sorry I mean July 21,2026 is it the right date to apply for ILR to prove 5 years qualifying period from my BRP issued date 19/08/2021 . I was worried as lot of people said we should take visa vignette date as eligibility for ILR qualifying period for 5 years or UK entry date . Hence my confusion even after reading gov.uk docs . Apologies if this is basic question wanted to ensure ILR application is not rejected.
