Indefinite leave to remain documents checklist

Post by Ria81 » Wed Jul 15, 2026 6:20 pm

Hi
I am due to apply ILR and have filled application form which generated a specific check list of documents to be provided..I am applying ok skilled worker visa combined qualifying previous period on sole representative.
Application asked home office reference numbers.
The documents didn't ask for any continuous residency proof just the absence proof.
They didn't ask previous employment or any historical documents.
Should I stick to the checklist or provide additional documents if yes what they should be.
I guess as the home office already has all the data with them for example English test,HMRC records etc so they didn't ask.
Plz suggest.
Expert advice needed please

Thank you for getting back..I was mainly concerned about continuous residency proof which they didn't ask any.
I guess from date of entry onwards absence calculation be enough for them so they didn't ask.
Can I ask you one more suggestion.
I am applying first ,my spouse is completing ILR time after a month. He wanna apply on priority but if we link kids application with his we have to pay 4 priority fee.
Can kids apply separately and will home office points out why kids ILR is not included with other parent ILR ?

You do not need to prove residency. Refrain from inventing your own rules. The UKVI will use their data to assess whether you had continuous residence or not.

Also, the qualifying period starts from the first visa issue date and the date of entry is irrelevant. Provide your first visa issue dates, for you and your family so that I can give you the best strategy.

Make sure to read --> All you need to know about applying early, the application date, 28-day concession and more

Thank you zimba!
Our dates are different for first visa grant that's why they qualify later than me though we entered UK altogether.
Mine entry clearance letter on sole representative and vignette states 2nd SEP 2021 ,though BRP issue date is 8th September 21.
My partner entry clearance date is 20th October 21 and all kids 18th October 21.
We all entered UK 7th of November 21.
Also advise me do the documents from sole representative time matter (company house, business set up, parent company etc) if I am applying ILR on skilled worker visa but combining qualifying time with that previous period.
Thanking you in anticipation

All apply together, then delay the biometrics until all of you qualify. So book your biometrics from late September.

Also, you are applying under skilled worker rules and time spent under 'representative of an Overseas Business visa' is simply counted towards the ILR period under skilled worker route. There is no need to send any documents regarding the period.

I guess you are suggesting from date of decision point of view that we all apply together on 5th of August as my earliest qualify date though they qualify later in September but delay the biometric until they are also in the 5 years eligibility window.
But for me and partner we want to apply for priority..I can only afford 2 priority application fee.
So I was wondering if I do according to my timings as priority and then partner will do according to his time as priority and children application can go as standard but I am afraid home office might object that y children were not included in the later parent application altogether.
If you have any suggestion regarding this plz.

You delay the biometrics until you are within 28 days of your 5 years. That is when you can be granted ILR.

You and your spouse can apply together using priority service, excluding the children from that application.
Then in parallel, apply for children separately using standard service.

If you want to apply separately, it is still fine. You apply using priority, your spouse applies for priority when eligible and the children will apply in parallel using separate standard applications on their own (children do not have a residence requirement for ILR)
