Guidance needed on exit requirements for a child born in India.

Post by CHOMALN » Wed Jul 22, 2026 4:12 pm

Hello all,

I am an Indian Citizen, and my child was born in India. My husband got his British Citizenship by naturalization before my child was born. We are currently applying for British Citizenship for our child.

Could you please let me know once my child British Passport is granted what documents are required for our child to leave India?

Specifically do we need exit permit or any other travel related documents?

I would appreciate any guidance. Thank you.

Regards,
Neha

Your child is already a British citizen, so no need to apply for citizenship. Go straight to the passport application.
