Hello Everyone,
I applied for the post study work visa around October 24th of 2008. My visa expired on October 31st, 2008.
Around the first week of December, I received a letter from the UKBA stating that I had been rejected because of the award letter I sent them. Apparently, the letter I was given by my school was not exactly what they wanted.
I immediately called my school about it and they notified me that they were negotiating with the UKBA about the matter because I was not the only student that had been given the incorrect document by mistake of the school. In short, the school admits fault for giving students the incorrect documents. After discussing the matter with the school and the UKBA and many other organizations including the Citizen's Bureau, I was convinced that it was in my best interests to just return home since my visa had expired.
I was told that the UKBA may night find in favor of any appeal because they may judge it based on my original application where I had given them the incorrect document.
So anyway about five weeks later, I received an email from the school saying that they had finally found someone in the UKBA who would be sympathetic to the decision and issue visas to the students who were rejected because of not providing the correct award letter. Unfortunately, they also said in the letter that students who had gone home or re applied, would not be included in reconsideration of the issue.
I feel that I should write to my caseworker or to someone in the home office about the issue. How can they re issue to some and not others? I HAD to go home as my visa had expired!
Any advice regarding how to go about this would be greatly appreciated!
My brain is really frazzled on the whole issue so if anything is unclear, please don't hesitate to ask me to clarify!
