Updated info asked by CHC before consideration?

I applied for simplified process back in 06. Now been asked by CHC london to submit docs by mid feb-09. Does any body know the following;

-Timescale between deadline to the point when the visa officer is presented with file for CHC london?
-Does CHC london contact applicant for any final updated info before case is presented to visa officer?
