Should we add all degrees and dimplomas in qualification?

Post by dextar » Fri Jan 30, 2009 11:07 am

Hi,

I'm on IGS visa. My college is not in UKBA sponsor list. Even its not in DEUS register now. But my college before this, exists in UKBA list and that is non-UK college.

Now, I can claim points only for only the degree which is not from UK. But not for the PGD from UK and that's fine.

My question is, should I add my UK PGD in qualification section as well, even I'm not getting points for this? I'm just concerned that If I will not include my PGD then they might consider that I am hiding the facts. In contrast, if I include that then the college is not in their list, so would that be a problem for my application or not.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Is there a problem with your PGDip?

What are you applying for?

I thought you only had to list qualifications that you were claiming points for?

I don't think you need to mention your PGDip if you're not claiming points for it, but if you did put it down, I doubt it would affect your application, unless your PGDip was issued by CCL or BITE or something to that effect.

Sorry mate. you take me wrong. I am not student of CCL or BITS and not of any other doggy college. My college was on DEUS list and it has been removed due to change in Uni affiliation but it will be back in Feb.

I was assuming the same (as you said) that I only need to add qualification if I am claiming points. Even, in the application form you can only enter one qualification. But i just want to double check with senior members. As my PGD college is not in the list so i cannot add that. But i can add my previous degree which is in the list. This was the whole confusion for me.

In other words you can say if a person has more than one degree then he can only claim points for one degree and he only need to send evidence for that degree only. I was trying to ask this question.

Thanks for your help.

You did not tell what are you applying for.

Assuming you are applying for Tier 1 General (HSMP) then to my mind it is perfectly fine not to mention PG Diploma simply because are not claiming anything on it.

You only need to mention the qualification you are using to claim points.

I think you are not hiding the fact.. you are just not claiming points for that qualification.

Rizwan bundle of thanks for your kind advise. I was asuming the same but my knowledge about immigration rules is very limited that's why i was asking senior people to confirm.

I am going to apply for tier 1 (General) next week. If you remeber in past I've asked you one question about english language test for Tier 1(General). Actually, I could not claim points for PGD and thats fine beccause my Bachelor degree's point are enough to qualify. But problem was, how I could get marks from English Language section. For this purpose I've done IELTS which I recieved yesterday. Now, according to UKBA points calculator I am elligible.

Do you have any other advise for me?

Once again thanks.
