PLZ HELP SPOUSE/CP (KOL REQ)

Post by modeblues » Sun Feb 15, 2009 8:34 pm

hi , looking for someone to clarify my situation ,
my wife English citizen , I'm Egyptian , we married in Egypt 12/6/05 ,
i had my visa to UK dated 19/Feb/06 for 2 years, we came to England 19/jun/06
before my visa expire date within 2 days Ive sent to renew it as ILR ,
unfortunately i forgot about the life in the UK test as well there were not enough time to have it done hence i was running out of date, as well as i was not qualified for the 2 years period , thus they gave me limited leave to remain up to 19 Feb 2010 without the (KOL REQ) or any thing just LLR,
the question that i hope to find an answer for it is
(for instance that i have my KOL test done) do i have to wait till my recent visa is about to expire to apply for ILR ?
or can i apply for it now hence i already passed the qualified residecny period and the KOL test ?

You can apply for your ILR as soon as you have passed the Life in the UK Citizenship test.

So if the test is already passed, do apply! Before the application fee goes up on 01.04.09!

1010? Before William the Conqueror? I don't think they had immigration laws at that time! William the Conqueror was not asked to show his visa when landing!

2010? I could turn this round and ask where did your informant get their information? Seriously, para 287 of the Immigration Rules gives you the ability to apply now, given they have clearly completed 2 years in the UK.
