Changed rules from April 1 and HSMP->Tier 1 Switch

Post by suravakonda » Wed Feb 25, 2009 10:12 pm

Dear Friends,

I am holding a HSMP visa (valid from Jun 2007 to Jun 2009) and was planning to apply for my switch from HSMP -> Tier I for further extension in the month of May '09.

But because of the below recent announcement of new measures from April 1st '09, I am worried if I would be eligible to apply after April 1 as I donot have a masters degree. Can anyone please suggest if the masters' degree rule applies for extension applications as well?

"tighten new criteria against which highly skilled migrants seeking entry to the United Kingdom are judged, by raising the qualifications and salary required for tier 1 (General) of the PBS to a Master's degree and a minimum salary of £20,000."

Thanks...
