From HSMP to HSMP unmarried dependent

I and my girl friend are holding HSMP visa (2+3). Base on point calculate system, i do not qualify for VISA extention, but my girl friend has scored enough point for extention. So we are considering become a unmarried partner. I have contact some lowyers, but could not get a common answer. there are sevel questiones quite confuse me..

1. As a HSMP holder, do i need to go back to China to apply the unmarried partner visa. Some people believe that, switch from HSMP to HSMP depenant belong to catagory switch, visitor & student with clear entry can apply, but as a HSMP holder, applicant has to go back the country of origin to appy the unmarried partner visa.

2. Which kinds of documents should i prepared for the application, so far i have mobile phone bill & bank statement, driving license, doctor register, to proof we live together. (but we do not have council bill; utility bill; as we rent a sub letting property, all these bill has included in our rent).
