PSW to Tier 1 & implication of newly proposed conditions

Post by coolfella » Sat Feb 28, 2009 9:02 pm

Dear All,

Hope you are well.

I would like clarify some of the issues regarding the newly proposed legislations (conditions) by Home secretary.

http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/siteco ... oughertest

Currently, I am under Post study work but would like to switch to Tier 1 around December as my visa is valid till December 2009.

However, I do not have a Master degree but according to the new legislation is it compulsory that I must have minimum Master Degree if I were to apply for tier 1 after April 2009 even though I earn over 20K per year and based in the UK?

According to the BIA

“Highly skilled migrants seeking entry to the United Kingdom are judged, by raising the qualifications and salary required for tier 1 (General) of the PBS to a Master's degree and a minimum salary of £20,000.â€

I am sorry but the new rule will apply to you as well and you will need masters to fulfil the criteria.
