UK born Indin child - Passport, visa requirements to travel

Hi,

I was blessed with a baby boy and he is of 2 month old now. We are from India and I am on HSMP. We got his passport (Indian) and applied for Dependant visa a month back. Till now we didn't receive passport from home office.

I am in urgent to travel India in next week along with my son.

Can we travel to India without baby's passport? Once passport arrives from home office to my home in UK, my husband can post that to India. So that we can come back easily.

Please help me if there is any other way to do it.

Unfortunately, I believe that baby cannot travel without a valid passport or travel document.
