honeymoon leave

Post by ds2008 » Wed Mar 04, 2009 3:56 pm

Hi friends,

After an antagonising wait of 5months from applying, my wife will finally get her Uk settlement visa/passport tommorow.

And then i guess im done from passively absorbing the vast amount of knowledge users and experts have offered when i posted q's on this site.

However before i go (for now!!) i wanted to ask once my wife arrives in the uk and gets to grips with how to turn the central heating on!! i wanted to know is it possible for her to leave the uk for vacation.

Since getting married in India in Oct, we havent had a honeymoon so that was the plan for the near future.

Can she go away with me upto 3 weeks max and are there restrictions on where she can travel to?

cheers

d

If she would normally need a visa to travel to a particular destination, then she will continue to require one. That will be the case until she has British Citizenship a few years down the line.
Think you're finished with us? :) She'll need to study for the Life in the UK test (KOL) for when she applies for Indefinate Leave (ILR)...and save letters and documents you receive in both joint names and her name at your address over the next 2 years.
