maintenance funds proof and past earnings overlap?

Post by eversmann » Fri Mar 06, 2009 4:25 pm

dear all,

i have recently come to know that payslips and letter from employer are considered the same source and therefore need something else as the 2nd proof for past earnings...

i have a savings accounts showing £800 or more at all times which i am going to submit for the maintenance funds proof...
my current account where i receive the salary doesnt always have 800 and mostly OVERDRAFT...

and want to know if it's a good idea to show my current account (along with the payslips) as the 2nd proof for past earnings..
would they consider the current account statements only for past earnings.. or would they judge that under maintainance funds as well..

anyone got some experience on a situation like this... would really appreciate your feedback..

thanks a lot

That's no problem. I was in a similar situation, whereby my current account was in overdraft, but I needed it as proof of income., I had a separate account as proof of maintenance. My application was treated favourably.

thx for the reply.. if you can confirm just one more thing... say in your case.. did you have more than £800 in total..
i.e. say £500 OD in the current account... but £1300 in the savings account.. so it evens out... giving the meaning that you had £800 available to you within the last 3 months regardless of where it is... or such was not considered...
because.. my current account roles between -1000 and +1000... (but savings acc always +800).. so there could be points where i am -200 at a time.. i am just wondering if this will be a reason for rejection... in which case i'd rather not show current account statements and think of another source... many thanks for your advices again..

No. The total did not always even itself out to £800 and at some times it probably would have been negative overall. As long as you have £800 in one account or in a combination of two, you ought to be fine.
