She doesn't need any papers. If you mean she has a spouse visa she may be asked for your details.ds2008 wrote:Hi friends,
Just a quick one.. my wife will be coming to the uk after getting her settlement visa last week.
I will be at arrivals waiting to pick her up, but can anyone advise on what papers (apart from passport!!) she will need when passing through customs?
Also, what kind of questions do you think they may ask if she is interviewed?
cheers

Only certain nationals entering the UK for > 6 months need require TB testing; e.g of such are Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Kenyans...batleykhan wrote:She will need her TB certificate, if she had the TB jab in the country from where she is coming
Irrespective of the nationality of the person, if they have had a TB test done as part of their application to come to this country, they will have to bring it with them to show at the airportOnly certain nationals entering the UK for > 6 months need require TB testing; e.g of such are Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Kenyans...
Until we know the spouse's nationality, one cannot infer that a TB Certificate "is needed".

All i'm saying is that only certain nationalities have to take a TB test and show a TB certificate at UK immigration. Your advice that the OP's spouse should have her TB certificate handy was somewhat presumptuous (I feel) as we do not know their nationality and whether a TB test is required in the 1st place.batleykhan wrote:Irrespective of the nationality of the person, if they have had a TB test done as part of their application to come to this country, they will have to bring it with them to show at the airportOnly certain nationals entering the UK for > 6 months need require TB testing; e.g of such are Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Kenyans...

I think we are splitting hairs on this isue. I agree with your comments entirely. All I was merely pointing out that if anyone coming to the UK has had a TB test done as part of their application , they have to bring the TB certificate along with them. Currently there are 7 countries that have this requireement with more to follow soonAll i'm saying is that only certain nationalities have to take a TB test and show a TB certificate at UK immigration. Make sense?
