Past Earnings

Post by sambano07 » Wed Mar 11, 2009 10:31 pm

I have a question about past earnings.
I have been working in the US for the past 3 years for the same employer making around $57K (GBP 40K). I want to apply for Tier 1 (General) visa. But the problem is that..in 2008, I was on unpaid leave for a month (for entire June). Anybody know, if that breaks the 12 month continuous earnings clause.
If I consider 01/08 to 12/08 (with one month unpaid leave in June), I am falling under (£40,000+ 45 points).
If I calculate my earnings from July 08 to till date, I am falling under (£29,000 - £31,999 30 points).

Please let me know , if anybody applied with unpaid leave situation!

Thanks

You can apply using any 12 month period within the last 15. You do not have to show earnings for each month, but rather that you qualify for points in that period. So, in your case, you could use the period of 01/01/2008 - 31/12/2008 and claim for your earnings in that period, regardless of whether you went without pay for one month or not.
