Query on Maintanance funds for Tier-1 (General)

Post by mohanuk » Fri Mar 13, 2009 7:43 pm

Dear Friends,

I am currently in UK in dependency visa. I want to apply for Tier-1 Visa. I want to apply it before 31 st March as I won’t be eligible for Tier-1 with new rules after that. I have small problem regarding the proof for Maintenance funds. I am maintaining bank balance £4000 from 29th Dec-08 in UK and on 29th of March I can get proof for 3 months. But I can’t wait till that time as I have to submit my Tier-1 application before 30th March-09. I am planning to take bank statement on 26th March-09 and to leave to INDIA. My problem here is if I take bank statement on 26th Mrach my statement will be short of 3 days for 3 months. In this case do the case worker will reject my application as my statement is short of 3 days for 3 months or they can over look as it is only 3 days short. Should I take chance? Please let me know your advice. Thanks for reading my Post.

Regards
Mohan

short answer, Yes, case worker will refuse your application. You should sumbit three calendar months statement for maintaince. Search on this forum you will see many people get refused due to maintainence funds, so don't assume anything just do as said in guidence notes.

Hope this helps.

Collect your statements from the Bank in London on CoB 28th/29th March and take a flight to India same night. Be ready with an advance appointment with VFS on 30th noon/31st and you are done!!

Sorry, did not realise that 29th is Sunday. Indeed 29th Dec to 28th March is 3 Calander months (send an email to UKBA and get them to confirm this by email, which you can attach with your application). As a back up (and this is a long shot), if you have connection in the local branch of the concerned bank in India, you can print-off the online statements in India and get these certified by the Bank official there making use of the following oint in the Guidance:
If the applicant wishes to submit electronic bank statements from an online account these must contain all of the details listed above. In addition, the applicant will need to provide a supporting letter from his/her bank, on company headed paper, confirming the authenticity of the statements provided. Alternatively an electronic bank statement bearing the official stamp of the bank in question will be accepted. This stamp should appear on every page of the statement.
