Entering in uk on Tier 1 - end march or April

Post by askscorpio » Sun Mar 15, 2009 10:02 am

Hi

Need advise from the senior members.

I have valid Tier 1 visa with two dependents my Spouse and the kid.
I got the visa in Oct 2008. Now I am planning to move to the UK in march end or april

Do you think that I will face any issues with immigration since i am planning to move after 7 months of my visa getting sanctioned.

Now I have secured a job in the UK and it makes more sense for me to travel now.

Looking forward for you opinions and suggestion so that I can plan my next move.

Thanks in anticipation.

Best Regards

There should not be any problem. You might have to do a little bit of explaining at the immigration desk. It will be helpful to carry some evidence to show that you had been looking for job all this whle and now have a job offer (pls bear in mind that these are not at all mandatory - carrying these docs lends some credence to your story i.e. recession/job losses/ lack of opportunity etc.)

That should not be a problem, since the new rules are applicable to those who apply after March 31st 2009

No. These will not impact you immediately. When you apply for an extension later, things could be different (although, ppl have got confirmation from HO that the changes will not impact those who already have initial leave under HSMP/Tier-1- which you too do).

moving after 6 months of visa stamped

Post by palxxx » Tue Mar 17, 2009 8:12 am

Dear push_hsmp,

I have similar case. I secured a job now and moving UK end of this month. The visa was stamped during end of Sept 2008.

Now, can you please advise me on the following:
1. Can Tier1 General Visa be extended more than once? As I might need to do it more than once to complete 5 years of stay in UK.
2. do I need to carry chest xray reports etc. to be in a safer side?

Regards,
Palxxx.
