Spouse Visa - Processing from UK - Need urgent advice

Post by krish_ram_26@yahoo.com » Sun Mar 22, 2009 9:07 pm

Hi.

I am completing 5 yrs with a combination of work-permit [4 yrs] + tier 1[1 yr].
My wife came here on a dependant status and then changed to HSMP.
My plan now is to apply for PR myself and then get her moved to Spouse visa so that she can get her PR in 2 yrs time.
What i would like to know from this forum is that whether her status change to Spouse visa can be done from here. Or does she need to travel to the home country [India]

What are the processing times for Spouse visa. When i checked the indian VFS website it said the processing times to be 60 days...As my wife is working here, taking 60 days off will be disastorous.

Please advice.

Regards,
Ram

Shame she switched to HSMP, because if she had not done that, and was still your dependant, she would get ILR at the same time as you.

But as it is, after you have your ILR, your wife can apply for a 2-year spouse visa using form FLR(M) .... in the UK.

Processing time for that form is same-day service (usually) in person at a PEO ..... or about 3 months if the application is made by post.
