ADVICE IN GETTING THE ILR

Hi! I am new to this forum...I have been reading the different topics which could help me decide what to do with my case. But I think I'd better post here my actual case to get some advice from you. I am a holder of Work Dependant Visa which will expire on Sept 2009. I have been to UK from Aug 2008 to Feb 2009. I wasn't able to apply for ILR because my wife and kids have already applied for ILR even before I arrived in UK last August. Others have told me that it would be a lot easier if we all applied for ILR at the same time. Apparently, the status of my sponsor who is my wife changed from working to resident. Now I am back in my country, Philippines. What will be the best approach for me to do to be able to go back to UK and live with them permanently? Any advice and help will be greatly appreciated.

If your wife has ILR you can apply for a settlement visa (spouse visa) to join her.

Thank you sakura for that quick response. I just have some more clarifications. If I get a spouse visa, I need to stay in UK for 2 years before I could apply for ILR, right? Am I 100% sure that I'll be given ILR after that 2 years. Because if not, I need to go back to my country again and by that time, I have already given up my job here.
