filling out application form section 2

Hi guys, im just in the process of filling out my application form but im abit confused with question D1. -"did the applicant obtain entry clearance or visa before entering the uk"

I have been in the UK since jan 2004,firstly as a student then after graduation went under SEGS and after a year under HSMP. now im due for renewal what is the most appropiate answer to this question?

I am guessing they are trying to find out if i needed to obtain enter clearance when enetering under hsmp, to which my answer is no.am i correct?
