Bank Stmt Query - Very urgent

Post by ashokccs » Fri Mar 20, 2009 5:25 am

Hi pals,

I have a query regarding the bank stmts, I got the bank stmts from ICICI bank from the branch where I am holding the account, on a plain computer paper sealed and signed with out any logo on top of the paper...
Pls let me know if this is ok, or how about getting the stmts from a different branch???

awaiting your reply,
Ash.

ii) payments made to the applicant: Bank statements provided must be on official bank stationery, and must show each of the payments that the applicant is claiming. If the applicant wishes to submit electronic bank statements from an online account he/ she should also provide a supporting letter from the bank on company headed paper confirming that the documents are authentic. Alternatively an electronic bank statement bearing the official stamp of the bank issuing the statements will be accepted. This stamp must appear on every page of the statement.

Why dont you take a print out of your bank statements on internet and go to bank and get a stamp ? That should be ok as per guidance .

But i dont understand what is this paper you are talking about .
"out any logo on top of the paper... "

is it ok if we just submit a letter from the bank (with logo) which says that the effective bank balance for the period was more than 2800GBP instead of providing a bank statement...

Hi Ash,

Do not take any risk, supply the documents very clearly as the climate is not very good. Its better if you could get statements from some other branch or a supporting letter from the bank.

Best of Luck.

Statement printed on paper without bank logo etc will be no good even if printed by the bank. HOs' requirement for official stationery is to make sure the docs are genuine.

Ask the bank to print the statement on official letterhead/stationery. Explain them this is for visa purpose & the visa authority wants to verify genuineness of the document. The logic being only the bank will have the official stationery (even though there are thugs who can make letterheads with banks logo etc  .....i advise not to use this method for obvious reasons)

My experience with ICICI employess (working over the counter) is not so good. They are either not well informed or think we do not deserve their esteemed service :!: . I usually meet the branch manager and request politely any docs I need. Let the BM know your request is urgent & also take the guidance notes print where they request bank details. In this way the BM will know that it is the Visa offices requirement and not yours :P

Else, you can print the online statement and get it stamped & signed from the bank...if the employee refuses, show them the guidance note...usually showing them a printed doc helps...dunno why but it works.....

All the best...

it will be good if u go to some other branch, first ask them if they are having the official stationary. i think it has a black logo on top of the page, thats it. You are paying for it so u shd demand it.
Second thing, also take a letter from bank mentioning very clearly the account number/fixed deposit number if any. And the letter shd mention the min amt in last 3 months and it is withdrawable at point of time.

you can ask ICICI bank for duplicate statements. There is a charge of about 250 rs, but it is better than taking a risk with a statement on plain paper. If you have net banking, you can request for it online for any given time period.

Hi ashokccs,

My wife submitted the odd looking dot-matrix printed ICICI statements -signed and stamped for Tier 1 from Delhi on 25th Feb.
She got the visa stamped in 3 working days.
There is no need for any Black logo ;)
They claim they don't sign on e-statements n they didnt.

Good luck to you.

Also I have submitted the same type of statements from UK last week but slightly tensed as they really look dodgy :?

I provided original bank statement with logo on back side,,,stamped and signed by bank....but my visa refused reason being
"You have provided a bank statement that has been verified by bank staff as non-genuine"
Not sure what went wrong?

ICICI generally give statement on dot-matrix printer. Its quite strange it has been accepted for some forum members. Better ask ICICI branch manager and get it on official stationary i.e. with logo and address. ICICI DOES PROVIDE these statement but with an extra charge, which is safer. I got the same when applied for my initial application though i required little extra persuasion to the bank manager :-)

Thanks a lot for all your replies,
As said and suggested, I have collected the bank statements from a different branch and got them on the papers with a ICICI logo on top of it in black, now the confusion is the letter I have collected has a different stamp and signature when compared to the latest bank statements...

so here is what I would like to do to support my claim, please comment on how it looks,
1. I would submit the Letter from the bank that I have collected along with the bank statements (with out ICICI logo) on 20th March as required evidence

2. I would submit the latest bank statements (with ICICI logo) from a different branch as additional supporting evidence to the above stmts, mentioning the reason that the branch where I am holding an account ran out of the statement papers with ICICI logo so I have collected the statements from a different branch ICICI logo to be on a safer side...

Please remember I am just doing it only to not to submit documents with different signatures and stamps.
what do you say guys??? please comment.

I submitted my barclays bank statements, they where not on a letterhead but where signed to certify it was a copy of the original and has the barclays stamp. Is this sufficient?
Also i already applied on the 24th march (From within the UK), if this is not sufficient can i still send in the bank statements?

Regards,
Eli

The ICICI Statements looks dodgy event if they are stamped and Signed. I would advice to take letter from bank along with such statements to be on the safer side. If you insist and speak to higher authority of the banks you will definitely get it. I have got one.
