ILR - returning to the UK after an absence of more than two

Post by rabs79 » Sat Apr 04, 2009 2:58 am

My wife entered the UK January 2003 on a spouse visa. She was granted indefinite leave to remain in December 2003. In December 2007 we left the UK, and as yet have no plans to return before December this year. I am aware there are restrictions on indefinite leave to remain which states she should not be out of the country for more than two years.

Are there anyways around this, how strictly is this rule enforced? I’m guessing it’s not possible to simply do a “visa runâ€
