"ABSENCE S FROM THE UK" for Settlement

Post by lionfly » Mon Apr 06, 2009 2:38 pm

The qualifying period for workers is a continuous 5 years. I heard that they also require that you can NOT be out of UK for too long.

The SET(O) form needs to list all Absences since the FIRST ENTRY, not just for the 5 years' working period.

During the past 4 years working with UK companies, my absence is 300 days already largely because the work was related to China business, so I was in China most of the time.

From the FIRST ENTRY, my absence is more than 400 days already.

Is there a rule that you can NOT be out of UK for more than how many (e.g. 60? 90?) days per year for settlement purpose?

there are various discussions on the same subject on this board.. u need to do a simple search..

But to keep it simple (not complete)
You can not stay out of UK 90days at a stretch in a year and you can not be out of UK for more than 225days for the whole of 5years,...

this above info might have changed.. so better do a search
