Hi guyz,
I am currently doing my MBA from london and have a visa still valid for 1.5 yrs but i am working part time for 20 hrs a week for a company and they want me to work full time with them and willing to sponsor me for tier 2. How would it work? and what are the chances of getting the visa coz i'll have to go back to my country and apply for tier 2 visa from there and my student visa will be cancelled a new one will be issued but i'd like to know what are the chances for getting this new visa? I checked the points calculator and i qualify for about 55 points overall. I got 6.5 band on IELTS and have had £800 in my account for last three months.
Also what about my family, if i apply spouse visas for my wife and kids, do i need to have £800 per person in my account? even for 3 yr old and 5 months children?
Any info would be appriciated.
Thanks

I do not think that you will have to go back to your home country to apply, if you are currently holding a student visa as student visa is allowed to switch into T2.

you do not have to have a UK degree.....if you have a bachelor degree in another country that will be fine, as under T2, bachelor degree scores same points (10 points) as master degree. I am sure you can apply T2 here as long as you are currently holding a studenet visa.

I checked my degree points on line points caculator and its giving me 5 points coz the degree was a 2 yr program. I am already an employee of the same company, have been working part time as an seo specialist. Just want to know if I'll be able to apply for my visa from here? If yes then what documents should i send to homeoffice for that?

Like I said, as long as you currently hold a student visa you can switch into T2 and do not have to go back home country. Your employer need to advertise the job in Jobcentre Plus and one more publication. your salary must be 22000/a above in order to score enough points. Since your employer has got Sponsor Licence, the next step is for them to get a Certificate of Sponsorship, it is not a paper certificate but a reference number which contains your job title and salary etc. After they got this they will give you the number and you need to quote it in your application form. You can find the guidance for T2 at UKBA's website.

Thank you for a quick reply...this sounds good. Yes i have a 17 months valid student visa still left plus my new job would be of £26,500. I am already an employee with the company for the last 6 months as a part time seo specialist, they want to offer me the same position full time now.
They are advertising the job on job center and gumtree. Ok after i get this certificate of sponsorship, i just need to send my visa application to homeoffice right. What are the important documents that should be attached.
What i think is:
1. Passport
2. Job Contract
3. Certificate of sponsorship
4. Job ads and all the CVs received and the reason for their rejection
5. Previous Part time job contract
6. My degrees and CV
7. A letter from my company saying they need me to work full time with them.
Is that all or do i have to include other documents. Will I be able to able to apply myself or should we go through a solicitor?
Thanks for your help

It will make no difference to your current status and your student visa will remain valid until it expires.
hope that helps
