IGS to Tier 2

Post by eddiebaba » Thu Apr 02, 2009 11:36 pm

Hello,
My employer would like to know what he needs to sponsor me? I'm on IGS visa and I want to know what I've to provide him to start the process? Where can I check if the company already owns the license? Is there any website??
If he wants to sponsor me then do I need to have master degree or the sponsor letter woud cover it? I'm new to this have read home office website but still confused on what documents I should give him?

Thanks,

Thanks for replying me back, I'm not sure that would be tier 1 or tier 2? In tier 2 there are asking for shortlisting and stuff. I just work in retail, that would not come here isn't it? Please let me know, thanks in advance!

For Tier 1 you should use the online points calculator.

About whether they could sponsor you under Tier 2, it depends on what you do in retail. What do you do?

Some roles would be skilled enough I am sure, but not the assistant/cashier roles.

I'm an Assistant Manager and earning 24k. I run the whole store when the manager is off. So it's a full heavy duty job :). Is there any website where i can check which company has got their license because i'm not sure our company has got the license yet and the fee for over 100 employees is £1000, so i've to be really conviencing. The job was advertised on their website and I appeared in interview along with 20 people and then shortlisted. Luckly enough i guess, but I want to know do i need to prove about my english if they sponsor? Should i appear in IELTS? I gave IELTS in 2004 and it's expired.
Thanks once again for helping me out.

Chances are very slim that you would get Tier 2 in retail. well thats just my opinion.

Why not try Tier 1?

Thanks,
if your employer is willing to do it then why not going for it otherwise tier 1 will be a better option for you.
