SEGS Transitional arrangement

Hi,

I was granted SEGS in 2006 which got over in Sep 2007 and after that I switched to Student which was initally refused then I was granted a student visa until August 2009.

My question is as I was granted SEGS only for one year can I apply for Transitional arrangements under PWS? just to remind again I am on student at the moment.

Your help and assistance will be highly appreciated.

If you have a MASTERS degree within the last 12 months then YES you can. Because you switch categories, you can not use your old qualifications for PSW which you acquire over 12months.

However I heard that you are no longer to apply for PSW after 31st of March if you have ever got SEGS/IGS/Fresh Talent Before.... I am also in similar position. I had SEGS until Jan2008 and I am on student visa upto May 2009. I have heard that due to the recent rule change I would no longer be allowed to get a 2 year PSW.

Can you please advise if I have any chances of getting a PSW??

I am still confused under Transitional arrangement it says that if you are currently on SEGS or had SEGS then you can apply for PSW.

and also for PSW it says that
if you already got SEGS before and are currently on Student you can not apply for PSW

stll confused. please help.

U cannot apply for that as IGS OR SEGS TO PSW is extension not switching and u people r on student so u r not extending but switching to different category and it is not possible.

I presume that way but may be u find a positive answer from someone else.
