First travel to UK on Tier1

Hi all,

Just a general query for Tier1 holders.

What is the duration till which one can start the first journey from India to UK on Tier1 after the Entry Clearance date/validity has started.

Is there a time restriction that one has to travel in the first 3 months or 6 months or is it open entry that in next 3 years we can travel anytime (first journey). In other words, is it true that Tier1 Visa gets invalid if we dont travel in first 3 or 6 months after its Entry Clearance date?

hi,
i dont think there is any such restriction.As long as your Visa is valid u may travel any time.
but i would still suggest u to check with your local VFS or UK Embassy or wait for seniors on this forum to agree to that.

You can travel for the frist time anytime till the VISA is valid.. but the furhter you deal, you shd have a better reason to answer the immigration officer if they ask you..

So to summarize it, there is no rule, but yes, to avoid any problems or inconveniences during the Immigration checks, its better if we avoid any unreasonable delays.
