Received the refusal letter, please help!

Post by Lu » Mon Aug 01, 2005 1:43 pm

Received the refusal letter yesterday. Didn't know this application is so tough. Should have been to here before I submitted my application.

I scored the following points:

Academic Achivement:25 points
Age Allowance: 5 points
Other sections: 0 points

I have claimed the following points in my application:

Academic Achivement:25 points
Work experience: 25 points
Age Allowance: 5 points
Skilled partner: 10 points
In Total: 65 points

My experience background:

Uk Master degree
A year experience in software programming in my own country
A year and half experience in software programming in UK (under work permit)
under 28 years
My wife holds a UK bachelor and a UK master degree

The reasons for refusal:

Work experience section: We are not satisfied that suficient evidence was provided to demonstrate that your previous work experience involved two years graduate level work. The HSMP guildlines states that graduate level work experience would normally be a role in a company that would require you to have a minimun educational standard of a UK degree or equivalent. The evidence provided did not illustrate graduate level work experience. Therefore, we were unable to award points for this section.

Skilled partner section: Insuffience supporting evidence wa provided for the points to be awarded. The evidence provided with the application covers a period of 12 months only.

Documents I provided:

For work experience section: one reference letters from my previous employer and one from my current employer. The first letter listed 6 of my main duties and clearly stated that it is a position for people who have degrees. The second listed all my responsibilities in great details but didn't highlight that it is a position that requires a degree, althought it is definately a position for people who holds a degree and even needs more than a year graduate level experience.

For skilled partner section: I provided marriage certificate,my wife's degree certificate, two statements from my wife(one dated on May 2004, one dated on May 2005), two statements from me(one dated on May 2004, one dated on May 2005).

I am not sure how to convince them my job is at a graduate level, although my job clearly needs lots of technical skills and research skills. and also for marriage relationship, I know it was me being silly and provided them the documents covers 12 months, but so far the earlist documents that I can find are dated on Oct 2003. Would it work?

Please offer some helps or your opinions, Much much appreciated.
