rewil wrote:I am been deputed in UK for over a year. I get both the UK salary & Indian basic salary. I need clarifications:
My UK earnings is £28K
My Indian earnings is £4k (after conversion to UK GBP)
Can i apply uplift factor of 5.3 to Indian earnings. If yes I can claim 45 points ( £28K + £21K (4K x 5.3) )
Thanks

Guidance notes. Page 24, point 134 states:
"Where an applicant has earnings from more than one country, the points based calculator will apply the appropriate uplift ratio for each country in which the relevant earnings were made in order to provide a total UK equivalent value of earnings."
Looks fine to me.

U cant put uplift ratio on your indian earnings as u earned that money while working in UK....rewil wrote:Thanks for the replies. There is bit of ambiguity in the guidelines. Has anyone on this forum have claimed points for payments from two countries.
See the highlighted section above. If you are employed in UK you are making earnings in UK and not in India (irrespective of where you are paid) and therefore no uplift is applicable.chetanojha wrote:Yes you can.

Didn't your pay slips show the gross amount?rewil wrote:I have got my Tier1 approved and all documents received today.
For Previous Earnings, provided both UK and Indian(with uplift) earnings payslips and bank statements. I claimed 45 points and have received 45 points.
I would mention that my UK earnings shown were net pay and had not submitted any documents to convert it show as gross pay.
I believe they are considering Indian earnings with uplift factor as my earnings with just UK conversion would not have got me 45 points.
Hope this news is useful.
