Tier 1(post study worker) confused and need urgetn help !

Post by frrana » Sun Apr 19, 2009 3:22 pm

Dear All

I am on Tier 1(Post study) visa and have already worked for A rated sponsor for 7 months. I am on a fixed term contract of 12 months. My employer is very happy to extend my contract once it finishes in October 2009.

Since I don't have Masters's degree so I cannot apply now for Ter 1 (general). I want to apply urgently for tier 2 (general) and get 3 years because soon there is good chance that home office (Jacqui Smith) might restrict the tier 2 (general) to shortage occupation only.

As I have spend more than 6 months on tier1(post study) worker I don't require Residence labour market test. But what should I say to my employer that I need Certificate of sponsorship? But for certificate of sposnorship you need to state when your employment starts. I am already working and contract can only be renewed once in october? I am very confused as to what should I say to my employer. Should he terminate the contract and give me new contract for three years or is it possible to tranfer me to tier 2 now on the same contract.

Please please Help me guys I really need your help.. thanks :(

As long as your employer is willing to sponsor u for 3 years then u can get tier 2 cuz its same as work permit. If your contract finishes in 1 year then u got to apply again.
