5 Points for UK Experience or Degree

Post by uvalue » Sat Apr 25, 2009 4:34 pm

Hello Everybody,

I am intending to apply for the Tier 1 General visa. Before i make my application i just want to clarify one thing.

I am currently Working in Ireland. I did my MSc from Dublin, Ireland. My degree is jointly awarded by Nottingham Trent University (UK) and HETAC (Higher Education and Training Award Council) in Ireland.

The fact of the matter is that I have never studied in UK but my degree is awarded by Nottingham Trent University.

Can i Claim 5 points (UK Experience or study section) in these circumstances????

Any answer would be appreciated.

Cheers

Unfortunately you cant. The Guidance Note (page 28, para 147 says):
undertaken a period of full-time study in the United Kingdom, of at least one full academic year, and been awarded a qualification at bachelor’s degree level or above. The qualification should have been awarded no more than five years before making the application.
