Withdrawing PSW application and reapplying as dependant

Post by upspeaker1 » Mon Apr 27, 2009 6:44 pm

Hello guys,

I'd like some advice on a course of action I intend to take. I applied for PSW in October from a college and like so many other people am yet to receive any decision on my application presumably because of extended verification checks. My original student visa expired 30th Jan 09. My wife also has a valid student visa and she recently completed an MBA from a UK recognised university. I am now thinking of withdrawing my own application and reapply as a dependant of my wife since the verification process for universities is much faster. I am thinking of getting a lawyer to do this for me. The wait of over 6 months is killing me and I can't work because employers are asking for my PP. Any advice will be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

I doubt you'll be able to withdraw your application at this stage since your visa has expired because according to the UKBA website your application will be treated as abandoned, which means you'll need to leave the UK and re-apply from overseas. Speak to a lawyer though and see what the options are for you but be careful with those lawyers. They'll promise you the whole world just to get a retainer. All the best.
