IGS to PSW and PSW to Tier 1(General)

Post by Ken13 » Mon Apr 27, 2009 2:50 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and I'll be very pleased if you could provide me with some advice for my issues.

1. I received my IGS for one year on the 25th of June 2008 until the 25th of June 2009. I used my PG diploma in order to obtain my IGS (Although I have a BSc too). Can I still apply for PSW using the same qualification (PG Dip)?

2. At present I work as a Statistical Programmer for a Pharmaceutical firm. If I was given one more year to remain in the UK as a PSW, by the end of my PSW (which is 25 June 2010), is it possible for me to apply for Tier 1 (General) with the same qualifications that I curently possess?
{ BSc in Mathematics & IT, PG Dip in Data Mining(Both obtained in the UK), 30 years of age, more than required amount of maintenance for more than 3 months, able to show up to 33k per annum as gross earnings}

My current IGS expires on the 25th June 2009, will it be fine to lodge my application this week or begining of next week for PSW? Also could you please attach the link to relevant application form (IGS to PSW).

Thank you very much and kind regards,

Ken

Ken,

Have you done the evaluation on the points calculator?

As per today's T1 rules you need min of masters degree as a qualification. Any other less than masters wont give you any points.

Just check the points calculator (on bia website), you will know if you will be eligible as of today's T1 rules.

All the best.

IGS to PSW and PSW to Tier 1(General)

Post by Ken13 » Mon Apr 27, 2009 3:27 pm

Hello,

Thanks for your prompt reply, but I thought I can apply for one more year under PSW since I received my IGS for one year. Are you implying that I will not be able to apply for PSW even though I received just one year under IGS???

Regards,

Ken

Dude u can apply for PSW as u will be applying under transitional arrangements for which u get all the points excluding maintenance.

But for Tier as u will be switching your visa then u wont get points unless u got Masters degree..

Hope this helps..
