RE: Urgent help for HSMP application

Post by mistral_ooi » Tue Apr 28, 2009 2:13 pm

Hi, my case was a little complicated.
I have submitted my application at the end of Feb 09. I rang HO on 17th Apr to check the progress. HO said a parcel has been sent out to me on the 8th Apr and gave me a tracking no to trace on the parcel. I have checked on the royal mail website and confirmed that someone has sign the parcel on behalf of me, but i didnt know who was it. So i report to the royal mail and the police as well. They said cant do anything for me.

So i decided to call HO again. And this time they said a second letter was sent to me on 23rd Apr and i received this on 24th Apr. The letter state that
they have return my application due to a designated mandatory part was missing. And the letter also mentioned if i didnt receive the first parcel, ask me to contact an officer.

After this, i rang HO again and they said my application still pending. But when i ring them today (28th Apr), they told me that the application has been rejected. I felt so doubtful about the decision. Can I check with HO which part was missing? If in this case, which direct tel no i can dial instead of the general tel which start with 0870 xxxxxx.

Thanks

Thats really unfortunate!!

i would recommend you to wait for your documentation to arrive so u know the exact reason for the rejection.

You mentioned that there was a lost post from HO.. by any chance do you know what was in it? If HO has asked you to provide some more information, you have a case as the post was lost in transit (you have tracking number and police report). Best is to wait for docs to arrive and seek advice from professional..

Sorry to hear that:

1. Make sure you keep record of every call you made to HO in this regards. e.g. date/time of call, person you spoke to and also what advise he gave you. This info may come handy in need.

2. Also inform HO (in written, fax and preserve copy of the fax receipt) that their parcel has been wrongly delivered by Royal Mail to somebody else and you did not received it. Also attached police report/royal mail reply with it. Ask them to start processing for lost mail(even though royal mail said it is delivered),.

3. Keep calling HO for status update on your application. Phone agents are useless, I doubt they can even spell their name correctly.

Hi,

This has happened to me before. What I will advice you to do is to first write a letter to HO requesting for your parcel and let HO confirm that the parcel is recorded delivery. Request for dates that the parcel was sent by HO to you and you did not get it. Request HO to treat this as a matter of urgency. Wait for HO's response. When HO replies to you, write another letter to RoyalMail and attach a copy of HO letter claiming that you did not receive the said parcel and that Royalmail should show you who received the parcel and what address it was delivered to. Then you followup from there.I hope this helps and let us know how it all goes.

All the best.
