applying for ILR (through marriage) while unemployed

Hi all,
I am just coming up to the end of my 2 year FLR(M) and am now unfortunately in the process of being made redundant. It looks like my leaving date at work will nearly coincide with the beginning of the 28 day timeframe that I have for applying to change from FLR(M) to ILR/settlement visa.

Does anyone know whether being employed or not will have an impact on my ability to get ILR? I would imagine my husband is earning enough to show that he can support both of us - is this the main factor since he is the sponsor? To be on the safe side is it worth asking my employer to extend my notice date for a week or two so that I can go to Croydon and apply for ILR before becoming unemployed?

Additionally, does anyone know if I would be eligible for unemployment/job seekers allowance or whatever, assuming I get the ILR?

I am wondering whether the date at which I become unemployed (and whether this is before or after ILR) would affect my ability to claim any future allowances.

are you dependent on your husband's visa?

My understanding of the UK immigration rules is that he is automatically considered a permanent resident and doesn't require a visa since he is a citizen of the Irish rep.

I guess I am not clear what you mean - I am here through FLR(M) so am dependent upon my husband, but he does not require a visa to remain in the UK.

Look I dont memorize what the forms are.
If you are on a dependent visa then you don't have to be working for ILR.
